The pedigree of the firm began in 1983 when Nicholas J. Toghia, one of the founding principals of Opus Group LLC was the managing partner of a California litigation law firm and responsible for compliance with the mandates of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, EEOC regulations, and California's Fair Employment and Housing Act of 1980 which govern discrimination and sexual harassment issues in the workplace. After earning a Master of Business Administration degree, he accepted the position of general counsel for one of the firm's clients in 1997, where he was responsible for regulatory compliance issues and monitoring workplace behavior in a corporation with more than 100 employees.
